Rising Stars: Victoria Loke

20 09 2018

Singaporean actress, artist, dancer and model Victoria Loke made her breakout screen debut this summer in the box office hit Crazy Rich Asians, playing Fiona Cheng, the cousin-in-law of the film's lead.

Despite her supporting role in the adaptation of Kevin Kwan's novel, praised for its all-Asian casting, Loke made an impression on critics and cinema-goers with her striking looks and strong performance. The 26 year old New York University graduate, who speaks English, Mandarin, French and Japanese, is much more than just a pretty face and her mission is to challenge representation of the Asian diaspora on film and in popular culture. While studying in NY, she co-founded the collaborative art series #AsianGirl, which dissects the West’s hyper-sexualisation of Eastern bodies and she's also exhibited as an artist in London and Singapore.
